Control Your Menu Drop Down, and Start Button Cascade Delay Speed
Warning: Always Backup your registry before makeing
changes!
You can set the speed of the delay before a menu drops down in Windows 95? You can
practically make the menu appear instantly if you'd like. Here's how.
- Click the Start button
- Select the RUN menu
- Type in REGEDIT and hit Hkey_Current_User\Control Panel\Desktop
- Right click in a blank area on the right side of the Registry Editor
- Click "New" then "String Value"
- Type in "MenuShowDelay"
- Double Click MenuShowDelay
- Type in the length of time you want for the delay from 0 for no delay to 100000. Be
careful, setting high numbers like 100000 is not recommended because it will take over a
minute and a half for the menu to display...the numbers represent milliseconds.
- Click OK.
- Restart Windows 95 to have these changes take effect.
Or download the Reghack here.
NOTE: After merging the Reghack you must reboot Windows
