Where is the Policy Editor

The System Policy Editor is located on the Windows 95 installation CD.

To run this utility, navigate your way to D:\Admin\Apptools\Poledit, (where "D" is your CD-ROM drive with the installation CD in it) and double-click Poledit.exe. Select Options, Template. In the Open Template File dialog box, select Admin.adm and click Open.

To access the Policy Editor's restrictions, select File, Open Registry, double-click Local User, and navigate your way through the books (as though they were folders). After selecting any restrictions, click OK, then select File, Save to save your changes.

If you don't have the Windows 95 installation CD, you can download the System Policy Editor from http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/wuadmintools/s_wumanagementtools/w95policyeditor/default.asp?site=95
